Blueberry Point is a local, informal name. The official name is Thomas Mower Martin Point named after the grandfather of Michael Dunn on his mother’s side. Thomas Martin (1838-1934) was born in England but became a naturalized Canadian and a very well-respected painter, principally of landscapes. Michael Dunn himself became a dealer in paintings and antiquarian books. The name of the point has been Thomas Mower Martin since at least 1989, long before Michael Dunn passed on.
