This map approximately shows the locations of the six stops of the field trip. The material for the posters was assembled by Jeff Packard and then the images were adjusted, printed and affixed to foam core backing by Tom Montgomery. All 31 posters neatly fit into a single backpack. Philippe Danton acted as Sherpa on the field trip.
The posters were shown to the field trip participants in an order that made sense given the field trip route and the stop locations. They are similarly arranged here for the virtual tour. They are not in chronological/historical sequence and so there is some warping of time as you proceed through the tour. It can’t be helped!
Finally, should you decide to visit some of these sites in person please take all due caution as you scramble around the old quarry. Given the jumble of granite rubble and the covering of moss and forest litter covering numerous potential foot traps (holes) make sure every step is a secure one. It can be very slippery as well when wet.
